BOOK IS OFFICIALLY RELEASED!!

Book official release date: August 19th, 2011

"The number seven is often considered lucky. With Seven At The Sevens, it is the reader who is in luck. Each of these seven-word gems is like a… key, unlocking the doorways of imagination and revealing entire worlds just waiting to be explored. In the brilliant introduction, the editor gives us a compass and a map for the journey, and introduces us to some colorful literary figures whose ghosts informed the writing of this book."

—Vivien Kooper, Author/Biographer/Lyricist

In addition to being a collection of brief short stories, “this book is a journal of experiences, not written in the experiencing moment but rebuilt out of memory. As we age, the mystery of Time more and more dominates the mind. The abiding things lie in the past, and the mind busies itself with what Henry James has called ‘the irresistible reconstruction’… An experience,... can be quickly overlaid by others, and not at the moment fully comprehended. But it is overlaid, not lost. Time hurries it from us, but also keeps it in store, and it can later be recaptured and amplified by memory, so that at leisure we can interpret its meaning and enjoy its savour.”

—John Buchan, Pilgrim’s Way

About Writers Anonymous

Describe writers anon

Ever since WritersAnonymous was founded, a growing number of anonymous writers have been meeting weekly at The Sevens pub, a classic Boston establishment in the heart of Beacon Hill. And, in honor of Mark Twain, the writers have decided to take pen names. Fitting that many of our names were taken right out of the Beacon Hill neighborhood, which has served as our place of inspiration and home away from home. It is also fitting that the many hours spent writing this book’s Introduction and editing its content and layout were spent inside the Parker House, where Emerson and Longfellow, and the rest of the Saturday Club gathered, and on the fifth floor of the old Boston Athenaeum, one of the nations oldest libraries and a place Nathaniel Hawthorne said was haunted after witnessing what he believed was a ghost. While it is entirely possible that great and noble literary ghosts assisted the writing of this book, the writers of WritersAnonymous are indeed very real. —WritersAnonymous
